Human Resources Program Manager
Job Description
This role will be a contract to hire position. It is hybrid with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office in Palo Alto, CA and Monday/Friday remote. All candidates must be local to the Palo Alto area.
Overview
Implement and manage critical HR projects and initiatives (e.g. New Hire Orientation, Open Enrollment, etc.), working side by side with the HR executive leadership team. Resourceful, tech-savvy and fully comfortable in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. Serve as a critical part of the overall HR team.
Key Responsibilities
- Project and Program Management of HR activities, including: Ensuring a consistent way in which the company manages projects/programs (e.g. providing requirements, assigning resources, providing dashboards, executive summaries, etc.); communicating and ensuring adoption across teams.
- Create processes and procedures that support effective project management. Create an effective and consistent way to manage projects internally within teams (e.g. "Project Manager in a Box").
- Prepare executive communications using various methods (i.e. email, PowerPoint, etc.) for internal and external stakeholder audiences, including executive and board level.
- Identify and lead projects to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of HR departments.
- Establish and manage budgets and timelines across projects, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are appropriately updated/informed.
- Drive alignment across the pillars of the HR team (i.e. HR, Talent Development, Recruiting, Compensation, Total Rewards, Workplace Experience, etc.).
- Support the Head of HR in the day-to-day operation of the various functions
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related
- 5 years of experience in Business Project Management
- Human Resources functional experience
- Formal project management training - Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite: PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Proficiency with Project Management tools (ex: Asana) and Data Visualization tools
- Experience with vendor management/ eProcurement software including Cobblestone; Workday experience preferred
- Ability to create surveys, polls and quizzes using MS Forms
- Experience creating and managing multiple, simultaneous project schedules
- Superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent work ethic and ability to multitask, prioritize and follow through on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills
- Experience in a high growth company or start-up environment preferred
