Junior Staff Accountant
Job Description
Day to Day:
This candidate will be responsible for running Accounting models in Excel, booking journal entries and submitting them for the Senior Manager to review and then would book that journal into SAP. They will also be responsible for monthly account reconciliation and some variance analysis after close.
Some other responsibilities will include:
- Create and update moderately complex allocations and accrual analyses via review of general ledger activity and communication with key contacts in other departments; prepare journal entries that support accurate and complete financial statements; maintain all support necessary.
- Prepare detailed account reconciliations via analysis and review of general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness of amounts/balances.
- Review monthly income statement and balance sheet activity to identify unusual trends or variances and provide detailed explanations for significant items observed.
- Research and respond to any questions that arise from executive or department management during the financial statement review process.
- Ensure internal control documentation as well as department policies and procedures are updated as needed based on changes in accounting processes.
- Assist with providing information and responding to inquiries from the Company's Internal and External Audit functions.
- 2 years of Accounting experience
- Public or Corporate Accounting Experience
- Strong Excel skills
