Job Description

Our client, an award winning, leading producing theatre, is seeking a Graphic Designer for a direct hire role in Atlanta, GA.

Job Summary:
The Graphic Designer is a member of the Marketing Department reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications and works with all departments in the creation and execution of all graphics and marketing materials for the Theatre. The Graphic Designer maintains the integrity of the theatre’s brand across physical, digital, and environmental applications, and develops new and creative assets to market individual productions, the entire season of productions, and on-going programming. The Graphic Designer works closely with other departments to generate assets for fundraising and education outreach efforts.

Work Schedule:
Full-Time. Regular business hours with the possibility of some occasional nights or weekends as needed on a show-by-show basis.  Remote work is permissible two days per five-day work week when in-person duties are not required. 

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and implement brand standards across all media both internally and patron-facing.
  • Collaborate with artistic stakeholders to create original and versatile designs/illustrations for the marketing of 9–12 productions per season. Original art should be able to be deployed in a variety of formats and orientations both physical and digital.
  • Serve as the primary creator for all related graphic design needs across departments, including for flyers, posters, advertising, mailers, reports, and presentations.
  • Provide art direction to in-house web and social media managers for social media and website content.
  • Work closely with vendors and mail house to produce high-quality printed materials, promo items, and direct mail.
  • Maintain and build the theatre’s list of print vendors and recommend and coordinate print jobs based on different project needs.
  • Develop branded merchandise and oversee patron-facing merchandise displays.
  • Maintain Theatre-related digital and physical signage and environmental graphics across the company
  • Collaborate with photographers and videographers to capture on-brand marketing assets.
  • Work within the marketing budget, track expenses, and file invoices.
  • Create ads (print, digital, and out of home).
  • Align design vision and execution with marketing strategy.
  • Manage projects from conception to delivery.
  • Create internal assets such as name badges, stationery, presentations, and business cards as needed for Theatre personnel. 
  • Design and produce merchandise for the Theatre – bags, t-shirts, mugs, magnets, Christmas ornaments, etc.
  • Maintain non-profit permit mailing account.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
  • 5-8 years of related experience in graphic design and art direction with an emphasis on print.
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine art, graphic design, or similar discipline preferred, but not required. 
  • Experience managing projects from concept through execution.
  • Portfolio of projects demonstrating strong aesthetic eye and effective messaging.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Expert level familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Exceptional capability with typography and layout.
  • Ability to balance creation and execution of multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • High level of self-direction, self-motivation, and ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge of the print process and file requirements.
  • Ability to incorporate critical feedback from stakeholders into the design development process. 
  • Knowledge of 22Miles digital signage software a plus.

Salary- $65,000
