Banking Ops Specialist
Job Description
Our client, a diversified financial services company providing banking and investing services, is seeking a Banking Ops Specialist for a 6+ month contract role located in Islandia, NY.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid until January 1, 2026, then it will be fully onsite/in-office
Hours: 8am-5pm (subject to change and may require later hours)
Employment Type: Contract, 6+ months
Hourly Pay Rate: $20/hr
Experience: 1-2 years of prior experience
Key Responsibilities And Duties
The Banking Ops Specialist supports routine day-to-day operations of consumer and commercial banking. Under moderate supervision, this job performs administrative/transactional banking tasks.
The role has responsibility for reviewing and decisioning of new consumer accontapplications according to regulatory requirements and departmental processes and procedures.
- Review of applications for CIP, Funding and appropriate client outreach for follow-up.
- Contact clients to help them complete and finish application submissions.
- Clearing application exceptions for client to be onboarded.
Top Required Skills
- Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skills through email and phone.
- Knowledge of Due Diligence involving CIP and KYC and OFAC.
- Understanding of banking procedures and compliance regulations.
- Prior Banking experience.
- Knowledge of the D1 Application Management system.
- Knowledge of CIP requirements including review of Lexis Nexis.
- Identification of fraudulent applications.
Preferred Skills
- Problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
- Effective Time Management Skills.
- Proficiencies in Microsoft Office Suite and Banking Software applications.
