Job Description

Our client, a respected international non-profit organization, is seeking an experienced Database & Gift Processing Specialist to join their team for a full-time role in Midtown Atlanta. This is a hybrid position so candidates must be local to Atlanta.

The Specialist is responsible for gift processing and acknowledgments and assists the Director of Data and Donor Information in maintaining the donor database in Raiser’s Edge (analyzing data and generating reports and lists as needed to support the fundraising goals of the organization).

Reports to the Director of Data and Donor Information and a member of the Finance & Operations team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Code and accurately enter gifts into Raiser’s Edge database, including checks, credit cards, EFT/wire transfers, stock gifts and pledges, in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Process daily online donations, including recurring and adoption transactions by importing/ exporting from the online giving platform into Raiser’s Edge via plugin connector
  • Collect and process postal mail daily. Sort, code, batch, scan and prepare for deposit in addition to processing credit cards; commit check and credit card batches
  • Perform regular database reviews for data integrity, duplicate management, and accurate, consistent coding
  • Manage the donor acknowledgment process by generating, printing and mailing donor letters ensuring segment accuracy utilizing Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Word
  • Working with the Director of Data and Donor Information to generate criteria-based queries and deliver segmented lists for fundraising campaigns, online gift fulfillment, direct mail solicitations and other communications.
  • Matching gift verifications, generating fundraising reports, assisting with monthly reconciliation between Philanthropy and Finance departments
  • Respond to gift-related inquiries to general email account and via phone
  • In conjunction with Director of Data and Donor Information, create queries and generate targeted lists or reports for online communications, solicitations, invitations, and other constituent communications needs
  • Responsible for contacting donors to update their credit card details and biographical or contact information as needed
  • Develop and provide strategic management of the matching gifts platform to confirm and match-back matching donation requests
  • Train staff members on batch process, gift fulfillment and applicable database activities to assist as needed during busy times
  • Share direct contact donor relations duties of answering donor queries via telephone and email, taking donations, and fulfilling other donor requests
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings, seminars, or webinars
  • Assist the Director, Data & Donor Information with projects and other duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 4+ years working with a nonprofit donor database
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and NXT is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel is required
  • Google Workspace experience is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and donors

Salary Range: $55-60k depending on relevant experience and credentials.
