Staff Accountant
Job Description
This is an onsite position in Buckhead, so candidates must be local and within a reasonable commute of the office.
Summary
Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role supports a broad range of accounting functions essential to the firm’s operational and financial integrity. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Month-End Close:
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, salary accruals for non-exempt employees, and recurring entries related to banking, credit cards, and escrow activity.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and firm financial information.
- Process incoming payments and accurately apply them to client accounts.
- Reconcile internal ledgers and bank statements.
- Assist with daily cash reporting and updates to the firm’s Daily Cash Flow Statement.
- Process and post transactions related to Stripe, LawPay, and other payment platforms.
- Support File Funding transactions at month-end.
- Enter and maintain trust account data.
- Update and maintain daily operational reports, including Orders and Cancellations.
- Manage monthly Adaptive Planning updates and financial downloads.
- Support Title Services accounting functions as assigned.
- Assist with accounting-related special projects as needed.
- Collaborate professionally with attorneys, staff, clients, and vendors to support financial workflows.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a professional environment.
- Proficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with accounting platforms such as Coyote Analytics, Workday Adaptive, SoftPro, and LawPay is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to resolve routine accounting issues.
- Professional communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Role may require occasional extended hours, particularly during financial close cycles.
