Job Description


Our client, a leading independent investment management firm, is seeking an experienced Foreign Exchange Support Analyst for a 6+ month contract in Houston, TX. This position is hybrid working 3 days onsite per week and 2 days remote.

 

OVERVIEW

The Foreign Exchange Support Analyst II must possess a solid understanding of treasury instruments. This individual will develop a level of knowledge within the team enabling them to form partnerships with all key business areas and functions, in particular the trading teams. They will be responsible for ensuring that trade executions are processed in order to meet custodian and market deadlines and accurately reflected into downstream systems. They will be expected to actively liaise with broker counterparties and investment teams and involve themselves in the continual development of processes and implementation of new funds and products covered by the desk.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support all post execution processes associated with all instrument types, including but not limited to the following instruments: FX (spot). FX (forward contracts, deliverable, non-deliverable and synthetic).
  • Monitor all systems associated with current process flows. Identify, investigate and resolve any exceptions identified in a timely manner.
  • Process any manual cash or trade instructions.
  • Liaise with internal and external Business partners on a daily basis.
  • Completion of start & end of day tasks relevant to Treasury Support.
  • Manually process trade executions that fall outside of the automated processes trade instructions.
  • Respond to email / telephone enquiries; taking full ownership to ensure that all enquiries are actioned on day of receipt (resolution or acknowledgement).
  • Daily investigation and resolution of reconciliation exceptions raised by Hyderabad reconciliations team.
  • Actively seek Continuous Improvements opportunities which are measureable and effective.
  • Assist in any system testing as required.
  • Assist other Operations and GPS teams.
  • Serve as a mentor to tier I Analysts and support and cover to Senior Analyst.

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of 3 years experience within the securities / investment industry within the Foreign Exchange support area is desirable, with experience of all elements of Treasury processing and product.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant business experience.
  • A general understanding of the financial markets.
  • Sound knowledge of treasury instruments.
  • Ability to analyze data making sound judgments and proposed resolution steps in respect of any issues arising.
  • Self-motivation to further enhance skills and financial and product knowledge.

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently, conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
  • Good interpersonal skills necessary to maintain relationships and interact effectively with individuals at all levels across business functions.
  • Ability to analyze and solve issues in a timely manner.
  • Good awareness of technology applications and software, in order to support growing trading complexity and automation efficiencies.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines and detail orientation.
Pay Rate: $42.85- $44.85/hour
