Fractional Controller
Job Description
This fractional role will have a somewhat flexible schedule of approximately 15-20 hours per week and will be remote / hybrid, with occasional in-office meetings, with the ideal candidate located in the metro Atlanta area.
Summary
A successful candidate will be a hands-on financial businessperson and oversee the financial activities of the organization as well as execute operational duties and projects. They will be consultative and collaborative, seeking optimal solutions that are most effective for the business, and seeing those solutions through to execution/implementation.
Supervisory and Advisory Responsibilities
- Interfaces with leadership to enhance revenue reporting, streamline processes, and create and track Key Performance Indicators.
- Works with team to maximize growth and profitability.
- Works with the leadership team to coordinate planning, priorities, and strategic direction and execute on deliverables.
- Prepares all financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Prepares financial and covenant forecasts for leadership, banks, and shareholders.
- Cash Management Planning, to the customer and vendor level, for short term and long term expected trends.
- Analyze inventory utilization and forecast both short- and long-term equipment needs.
- Production Planning for the purchase of additional equipment.
- Develop, renew, and monitor employee compensation and benefit plans.
- Analyzes sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses. Provide reporting to leadership.
- Studies workflow processes and advise on mechanisms to enhance efficiency and recommend, implement further automation.
- Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
- Prior accounting/finance support in Distribution a must.
- Small to mid-size company support – multiple entities.
- Technology:
- Office 365
- Strong ERP proficiency, ideally with Epicor Prophet 21
- CRM – Ideally Rubber Tree Systems
- Web-Based Reporting – Ideally with WebQuery
- QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative approach to projects.
- Passion for finance/accounting and operations.
- Growth-oriented mindset, strategic approach with the ability to “roll up sleeves” to achieve results.
- Understanding of banking relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA/MBA a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in financial leadership and management.
