Job Description
HR Director part time
Recruiting and staffing of this is being handled by Corps Team on behalf of our client. This is a part time position (10 hours a week). Candidates must be local to the DC Metro area and be willing to work on site part-time 1-2 days per month.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be comfortable working as a solo HR practitioner reporting to the COO. The HR Director will:
- Act as an HR Generalist handling a broad variety of issues.
- Perform and manage full lifecycle recruitment process from sourcing through onboarding.
- Act as a SME and resource for all HR issues.
- Perform duties such as drafting and updating employee handbooks, performance management plans, etc.
- Advise on and ensure compliance with State and Federal laws.
- Inform, educate and disseminate information on all human resources programs, policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain positive employee relations; provide guidance and advice to managers and supervisors on employee coaching, counseling and discipline if necessary.
- Investigate and appropriately resolve employee relations issues.
- Manage employee benefits.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline preferred. The equivalent work experience and education may be substituted. HR certification (SHRM, PHR, SPHR, GPHR) strongly preferred.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 12+ years of recruiting and generalist human resources experience with increasing responsibility, preferably some as sole practitioner.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience at a Sr. Manager or Director level. Candidates without this will not be considered.
- HR certification (SHRM, PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM) as strong plus.
- Prior non-profit experience a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of recruiting platforms, LinkedIn, Boolean search and ATS software required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office.
- Proven ability to establish strong relationships.
- Must be a team player, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes quickly (flexible with hours and duties).
- Seeking ongoing part-time work.
- Must be able to part time during regular business hours of 10-4 EST.
- Must be available to work in the DC office 1-2 days per month.
