Job Description
Summary
The Information Systems Operations Manager will be responsible for the IT operations of the company. This leader will work closely with department heads of the business and with the corporate office’s IT team to implement solutions and required compliance requirements. The IT Manager will work closely with the Manager of Technology and Manager of BIM/VDC to ascertain technological requirements and build solutions that are aligned with objectives. This person will manage and supervise IT employees to ensure all systems are running reliably to support company goals and objectives, while staying within the guidelines of compliance laid out in company processes and procedures. The IT Manager:
- Coordinates computer operations activity to ensure rapid, accurate, and efficient operation of the organization’s computer system. Plans and develops policies and procedures for carrying out computer operations.
- Devises systems capability that reflects the highest state of technical sophistication consistent with the corporation’s needs and budget
- Meets with subordinates to discuss progress of work, resolve problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
- Creates staff capable of meeting current and future needs, and adjusts hours of work, priorities, and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on workload.
- Reviews daily logs and reports to detect recurring slowdowns or errors. Consults with software and hardware vendors to solve computer processing problems.
- Meets with users to determine quality of service and identity needs.
- Manage IT team to support business operations.
- Understand strategic business initiatives and implement IT solutions to solve those issues or help the initiatives.
- Maintain and implement IT hardware, underlying IT software (Server and Client operating systems, Windows, Office, routers, etc.) and infrastructure used by the business.
- Research new technologies that could be used by business to improve workflows or solve business problems.
- Work with department heads of the business to understand their needs and to properly vet solutions.
- Develop project plans to implement changes to the environment and coordinate with affected departments.
- Understand the software utilized by the businesses and make recommendations to business decision-makers.
- Report the status of the business IT projects, issues, and risks to the department heads.
- Evaluate the company’s adherence to various compliance and regulations over the business.
- Identifying vulnerabilities, risks, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure reported issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Maintain complete and open lines of communication with other personnel, functions, or department to facilitate operations and interaction in the organization.
- Keep business unit management and KUSA informed of status and progress, ensuring that regular and periodic communication takes place.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and keeping abreast of industry trends and related compliance issues within the area of responsibilities.
- Maintain professional conduct, attendance, and high ethical standards in the workplace, complying with company’s policies and procedures.
- Must have a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible IT Systems and Infrastructure experience (must include Information System Management, providing user support in MS Windows Operating Systems and MS Office applications, as well as hardware and network maintenance).
- Must have 3 or more years of experience with Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and/or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Must have strong Network Troubleshooting and Active Directory Support skills.
- Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands-on experience working with Cloud-Based Applications such as Procore, Egnyte, Viewpoint, CMiC, etc. strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction technology with an emphasis on IT is strongly preferred.
- Accountability: Work independently without constant supervision/ instruction from others. Ability to follow-through the assignments until completion.
- Communication: Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with people at all levels of the internal and external organization with sensitivity.
- Organization & Planning: Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks efficiently while handling multiple tasks simultaneously and managing time effectively.
- Problem solving: Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to solve problems while exhibiting practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved.
- Detail oriented: Detail oriented, driven to mistake-free work with excellent follow-up.
