Litigation Paralegal
Job Description
Day to Day:
This position is responsible for performing support functions in the daily operations of a legal division by managing case files, conducting legal research, initial review of pleadings, discovery and motions, and coordinating with outside counsel.
- Coordinate document collection, organization, and production of discovery.
- Assists with witness and deposition preparation, including witness files, scheduling, coordinating with outside counsel.
- Maintain litigation calendars, track deadlines and coordinate same with internal resources and external counsel.
- Support management of outside counsel, including budget tracking, assisting with invoice review.
- Support management of third party subpoena process and responses.
- Partner with members of the legal team on special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Support evaluation and review of execution of disinvite, cease and desist and other legal correspondence.
- Experience: 5 plus years’ experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills and legal case management/e-discovery software;
- Strong legal drafting and organizational skills; detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities with minimal supervision
- Capable of creating templates and forms for documents and collecting metrics
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, confidentiality, and collaboration
- Professional Certifications: Paralegal Certificate preferred
