Job Description

Our client, a retail chain of home improvement and agriculture stores, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for a contract position in Brentwood, TN. This role is hybrid, with three days per week onsite, and the assignment will last through the end of the year.

Day to Day:
This position is responsible for performing support functions in the daily operations of a legal division by managing case files, conducting legal research, initial review of pleadings, discovery and motions, and coordinating with outside counsel.
  • Coordinate document collection, organization, and production of discovery.
  • Assists with witness and deposition preparation, including witness files, scheduling, coordinating with outside counsel.
  • Maintain litigation calendars, track deadlines and coordinate same with internal resources and external counsel.
  • Support management of outside counsel, including budget tracking, assisting with invoice review.
  • Support management of third party subpoena process and responses.
  • Partner with members of the legal team on special projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Support evaluation and review of execution of disinvite, cease and desist and other legal correspondence.
Must Haves:
  • Experience: 5 plus years’ experience
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Other knowledge, skills or abilities:
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills and legal case management/e-discovery software;
  • Strong legal drafting and organizational skills; detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities with minimal supervision
  • Capable of creating templates and forms for documents and collecting metrics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, confidentiality, and collaboration
  • Professional Certifications: Paralegal Certificate preferred
Pay Rate- $41.38- $42.86/hour
