The Role:
We are seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our client on a contract-to-hire basis in an onsite role in downtown Austin, TX. They are a dynamic and growing company in need of a reliable, detail-oriented individual that thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment working on the finance/operations team. Job Description:
As a Part-Time Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our finance department. You will be directly involved in key accounting functions while working closely with partners and colleagues to ensure financial activities are executed with precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Payable: Manage and process vendor invoices and payments.
  • Accounts Receivable: Track and process incoming payments, ensuring accurate invoicing and follow-up on overdue accounts.
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries for various accounting activities.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of regular financial reports.
  • Payments & Bank Deposits: Post payments to the system and make deposits in accordance with company procedures.
  • Payroll Assistance: Support payroll processing and assist with payroll reporting as necessary.
  • Disburse Funds: Disburse funds in line with company policies.
  • Month-End Close: Contribute to the month-end closing process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Partner Interaction: Communicate with company partners to provide updates on financial matters.
  • Client Communication: Engage directly with clients, primarily regarding invoices, payments, and resolving related inquiries.
  • Streamline Communications: Facilitate efficient communications while maintaining a personal touch with clients and team members.
  • Documentation: Document high-level accounting procedures and maintain organized records for internal reference.
  • Team Support: Be flexible and willing to "pinch hit" and assist in other areas as necessary to ensure smooth operations within the team.


Qualifications:
  • 4- year degree and 3+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Experience with financial reporting and reconciliation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with business maturity and polish.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on both client and internal stakeholder, partner relations.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Work Schedule:
  • Flexible part-time hours, approximately 30 hours per week.
  • Schedule can consist of 4 or 5 days per week and once established will need to be consistent.  
Pay Rate- $30.00-$35.00/hour
