Safety Consultant
Job Description
Day to Day:
- Working with the Safety Manger to develop training programs that provide solutions related issues causing current claim trends. (25%)
- Analyze claim data and develop programs to prevent claims from occurring. (10%)
- Oversee and direct company-wide compliance related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations. (25%)
- Review OSHA federal and state regulations on an annual basis, or as changes and updates are required and implement or update appropriate communications and training programs to address these changes in a timely manner. (10%)
- Work with Safety Manager on new projects / programs to identify safety risks and develop training programs to address these risks, including the review of upcoming planograms with Merchandise Presentation to address potential safety issues. (10%)
- Coordinate activities with regulatory agencies to verify compliance, resolve situations and maintain a cooperative working relationship. (10%)
- Assist with property loss control/fire protection program for stores, DCs and SSC and catastrophic property losses, as needed (5%)
- May perform other duties as assigned *
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; at least 2 years of work related experience in occupational health and safety; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong Communication skills
- Ability to analytically review data to determine actions/responses to trends
- Knowledge in working with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
- Completion of OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification
- Department of Transportation experience (strongly prefer to have this)
