Our client, a payment solutions company, is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant for a direct hire role in Alpharetta, GA. This role is hybrid and will work a blend of onsite and remote. 

Summary
The Senior Technical Accountant is an integral part of the accounting team and is responsible for providing reliable, timely and accurate financial data in a dynamic financial environment.  The position is responsible for all accounting areas related to acquisition accounting, certain integration activities, and accounting/consolidation of Holding company entities to affect an efficient and accurate monthly financial close.  The team member will be a key business partner with other departments within the organization (e.g., Finance) to communicate and advise on the impact of capital accounting related matters.

What Part Will You Play?

  • Responsible for the acquisition accounting of acquired entities, including leading valuation efforts internally and externally. Ensures the Day 1 integration of acquired entities which includes assisting with account mapping and ledger set-up.

  • Assists in the monitoring of goodwill and intangible assets for impairment, both quarterly and annually.

  • Responsible for the recording of certain Holding Company transactions for month end close.

  • Responsible for memorializing accounting positions with respect to key initiatives in the form of technical accounting memos.

  • Ensure that all financial information is recorded in accordance with GAAP, Federal and State regulations and consistent with established Company policy and procedures. Ensure adherence to Sox requirements.

  • Assist with Accounting duties such as account reconciliations and journal entries, month-end close process, information gathering, and reporting. Assist with internal and external audits.

  • Review, recommend, and train staff on account reconciliations, journal entries, etc.

  • Document accounting processes and procedures to ensure they comply with Company guidelines. Recommend improvements to process flows, processes, and procedures.

  • Act as liaison with other departments and external parties concerning accounting information of subsidiaries and other assigned areas. Regularly interact with all Accounting management within the organization.

  • Assists in general ledger/accounting aspects of strategic initiatives including reorganizations, repatriations, etc. Participate in accounting projects as necessary, for example, accounting for acquisitions, facility closings, conversion issues, etc.

  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations with an in-depth analysis.

  • Prepare presentations covering results of analyses for delivery to executives.

  • Able to maintain sensitive and confidential information. Ability to escalate issues as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience. Public accounting experience/background preferred, especially Big 4. Knowledge of public accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with acquisition accounting and impairment analyses.
  • Skilled in developing detailed documentation and communicating financial information and results.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Experience with Google suite preferred. Knowledge of Oracle Financial software preferred.
  • Credit Card Processing or Bankcard Industry experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team driven environment yet be able to work independently to complete daily expectations. Must be flexible, customer focused, and an agent of change. Possess a positive attitude.
Base Salary $92,000-105,000. Final determination of salary will be based on an evaluation of experience, education, budget, etc.
