Senior Tax Accountant
Job Description
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Tax, this position is remote, but the client would like someone who is able to go into their Beverly office 3-5 days per quarter.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Worldwide Tax Provision
- Coordinate with PWC for quarterly and annual WW Tax provisions
- Effective Tax Rate Modeling – maintain model and discuss monthly with Sr Tax Director
- Reconcile Tax Accounts
- Maintain the UTP and FIN48 Rollforwards
- Adhere to controls established under Sarbanes Oxley for the income tax cycle
- Review Transfer Pricing calculations monthly and ensure target margins are met
Worldwide Tax Compliance
- Maintain the worldwide tax calendar, with internal deadlines for the company and PWC
- Coordinate with PWC on Federal and state tax returns, as well as estimates and extensions
- Refresh BNA SmartCharts monthly, i.e. tax law change, tax rates
- Prepare Monthly Sales Tax returns and Tax Exemption Certificates for new vendors
- File annual property tax, annual reports and local non-income tax filings
- Respond to all tax notices for federal and state income taxes, and assist with all audits
Tax Department Projects and Process ImprovementT
Participate in projects focused on efficiencies such as:
- Tax Credits & Incentives
- Forecasts & Budgets
- Workflow of Tax-sensitive Data
- Explanations for all Deferred Tax items
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or MST preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in a global corporate environment or public accounting firm with SEC experience
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 accounting for income taxes including stock-based compensation, valuation analysis and uncertain tax positions
- Effectively handle and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks
- Experience with tax-based research tools
- Strong Excel skills required. Experience with OneSource a plus.
