Job Description

Our client, a leader in the power sports industry, is seeking an experienced Central Sourcing Support for a 12+ month contract assignment in Plymouth, MN.  This role is hybrid and will be onsite from Tuesday-Thursday.

 JOB SUMMARY:
As a Central Sourcing Contractor, you will be responsible for supporting a company-wide supplier activity.  This will include reaching out to suppliers and other stakeholders to gather information for a company-wide initiative.  This position will evolve into supporting the Category Sourcing teams as they work on strategy development and implementation for assigned categories in alignment with the broader Commodity Strategy. You will manage daily/weekly tasks that help sourcing teams manage the supply base to ensure that all suppliers meet our four priorities: Delivery, Quality, New Product Integration, and Cost Competitiveness. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supplier Relations:
  • Identify and communicate internally any supplier concerns or opportunities. Support cost recovery initiatives.
  • Support problem resolution discussions with suppliers and ensure the adequacy and timeliness of supplier correction action plans.
  • Enter cost changes, maintain parts systematically, and support sourcing projects.
  • Ensure tooling requests are appropriately approved based on cost and quality requirements.
  • Assist with new supplier onboarding
  • Assist with supplier contract routing
Sourcing Priority Management:
  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities in the process & workflow
  • Track progress of daily tasks and be able to communicate progress
  • Maintain current costing and communicate cost opportunities when identified. Work with suppliers and Accounts Payable to resolve price and invoice discrepancies.
  • Help support part shortages and delivery issues when necessary.
  • Support supplier lead-times and production capacity improvement initiatives to ensure schedule flexibility, as needed.
  • Partner with sourcing, accounts payable, quality and engineering team members to resolve issues.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
  • 5% travel may be required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or technical area
  • APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. desired.
  • Previous materials/purchasing experience is a plus but is not required
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Effective negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills within team and cross-functionally.
  • Highly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to professionally represent the company by developing productive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable analyzing data
  • Experience pulling reports and utilizing different systems
  • Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experienced in presentation abilities, including PowerPoint development.
Pay Rate- $20.54- $22.54/hour
